For almost 3 decades Berliner has been a part of numerous ground-breaking broadcast achievements. He has been both an on-air and Managerial force in the creation of 2 national cable networks and 2 regional cable networks. "SNN" (Sports News Network) was the first full-time network devoted to sports news, "NewSport" refined the concept and was the base network in the formation of the FOX Sports Network, the "Rocky Mountain Sports Report" is one of the more popular regional networks in the FOX family, and "CN8" in New England is where Berliner acted as Host, Executive Producer and Managing Editor for "Sports Pulse", a live nightly 1 hour program focusing on "1 on 1" interviews in a format unique to the region. Berliner has also been at the forefront in the creation and programming of 2 South Florida radio station while his company "Sportsline Communications" produced and nationally syndicated the signature "Fastest Show In Sports" to over 100 affiliates for 5 years. Berliner has covered every imaginable type of news and sports events, from dramatic murder trials to the Super Bowl. He has delivered thrilling play-by-play in almost every sport ranging from powerboat racing to the NCAA, NFL and NASCAR. He is also a frequent guest speaker before organizations, corporations, sports leagues, conferences and colleges on issues in all facets of the media. Ed Berliner is available as a media & motivational speaker on media influence on US & World culture, corporate use of world media, corporate media ethics, and Sports in Society. Despite being a lifelong fan of the NY Mets, the team that defeated the Boston Red Sox in the 1986 World Series, Berliner and Co-Managing Partner Doug Prusak remain the best of friends. |
